Atlanta— Today, People For the American Way’s Latinos Vote! program announced the release of a new Spanish-language TV ad in support of U.S. Senate candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in Georgia’s runoff election that concludes on January 5.
The ad, titled “Juntos,”meaning “together,” is a 30-second Spanish-language spot stressing the importance of the Georgia races in determining control of the U.S. Senate. The ad encourages viewers to vote for the issues that matter to them, including COVID-19 relief and health care.

People For the American Way’s Latinos Vote! program was the first to invest in reaching out to Latino voters through Spanish language political ads in Georgia, in 2014. It was the only program invested in Spanish-language paid media across the state for the 2020 presidential election. Exit polls had the Latino vote at seven percent of the electorate for the November general election. That would be an estimated 345,000 voters. The margin of victory was about 12,000 votes.
In addition, excitement about the runoff is driving more Georgians overall to register to vote: 76,000 more Georgians registered between November’s presidential election and the December 7 voter registration deadline for the current Senate runoff.
“For months, we have watched the failure of the Republican-controlled Senate to provide the level of COVID-19 relief that Georgians and all Americans need,” said People For the American Way President Ben Jealous. “Latino voters in Georgia can make the difference by sending Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue packing and ending Mitch McConnell’s grip on the Senate. Electing Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock will flip control of the Senate and give the American people the representation they need and deserve. Latino voters are the key to that victory.”
“November’s Biden-Harris victory in Georgia showed that we win when we work together, and that’s what this ad is all about,” said People For the American Way board member and civil rights leader Dolores Huerta. “Together, we defeated Donald Trump in November, and now, together, we must defeat Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, who continue to abandon Georgians in favor of special interests and corporate lobbyists. We have had enough.”
“Latino voters in Georgia and across the country played a huge role in electing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris,” said People For the American Way Political Director Lizet Ocampo. “Latinos Vote! and People For the American Way will continue to engage voters and play a role in the places it matters most. That starts with these must-win races in Georgia.”
