Washington, DC – Following today’s action in the Senate Judiciary Committee to advance more of President Biden’s outstanding federal judicial nominees, and Senator Schumer’s immediately filing cloture on one of the reported court of appeals nominees, People For the American Way President Svante Myrick released the following statement:

“One of the most valuable and enduring achievements of the Biden-Harris administration, the Senate Judiciary Committee under Chair Durbin, and the full Senate under the leadership of Leader Schumer, has been the confirmation of outstanding federal judges. We applaud the committee for reporting out 15 more judicial nominees today and look forward to even more next week. Every additional step the committee takes to advance these highly qualified nominees is more progress toward a justice system that truly upholds the rights of all, not just the wealthy and powerful.”
