Washington, D.C. — Following the House of Representatives’ vote, for a second time, to impeach President Donald Trump, People For the American Way President Ben Jealous released the following statement:

“Today, the House of Representatives once again carried out the grim but necessary duty of impeaching Donald Trump. While 10 House Republicans voted to impeach Trump, the votes should have been unanimous. Trump’s dangerous disregard for our nation’s highest office and his role in inciting the violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol that left five people dead, including a police officer, is unconscionable and unacceptable. The Senate must now move swiftly to convict Trump, to pave the way to ensuring that he never occupies federal office again.”
