Washington, D.C.—  In a new digital ad, People For the American Way calls out Georgia’s current U.S. Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue for their terrible records on health care during the COVID-19 crisis.  As the ad makes clear, not only did Loeffler and Perdue take steps to undermine the Affordable Care Act and its coverage for preexisting conditions, they actively sought to profit off the pandemic with their stock trades.

“Sometimes it takes a crisis for people to show what they’re really made of, and this pandemic has revealed that Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are as corrupt and selfish as they come,” said People For the American Way President Ben Jealous.  “While Georgians were suffering and dying of COVID, all Loeffler and Perdue cared about was the chance to make money.  It’s inexcusable, and we think Georgians will show how disgusted they are when they vote these two out of office.”

The ad will appear on Facebook and is part of an ad buy that will run until January 5.  You can watch the ad here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_pluSn4XdM&feature=youtu.be.

Script (text onscreen):

A deadly pandemic..

Georgians sick and dying…

But Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue keep trying to destroy our health care.

Voting to get rid of the Affordable Care Act…

And coverage for preexisting conditions…

While getting rich trading health care stocks.

 It’s wrong.

It’s shameful.

 It has to stop.

It’s time to VOTE THEM OUT.

Vote early or on January 5.
