Washington, DC — Following the death of 39-year-old Connecticut State Rep. Quentin “Q” Williams, a longtime member of People For the American Way’s Young Elected Officials network, in a traffic accident on January 4, People For the American Way President Svante Myrick released the following statement:
“We are heartbroken at the news of Q’s untimely passing. He was a shining light in the Young Elected Officials network, a person who embodied joy, leadership, and dedication to public service and who had a brilliant future ahead of him. I was proud to call him a beloved friend. With his loss, a light goes out for all of us. We are committed to honoring his memory within YEO and we will finalize our plans for a permanent form of memorial in the near future. Meanwhile, our prayers are with his family and loved ones at this very difficult time.”
