Washington D.C. –  Following the latest attempt by the leadership of the Tennessee House of Representatives to silence and intimidate Rep. Justin Jones, one of the “Tennessee Three,” People For the American Way President Svante Myrick released the following statement:

“With every fresh attack against him, Justin Jones proves again why he is a hero for our times. The far-right Tennessee House leadership can try to silence Rep. Jones, but they can’t touch his spirit, his commitment or his integrity. Shame on the Tennessee House for these racist and undemocratic attacks, which will fail. The people of Tennessee are with Justin Jones in his fight for common-sense gun safety legislation at a time when lives hang in the balance.”
