WASHINGTON, D.C.— Ahead of tonight’s presidential primary debate, PFAW President Michael Keegan released the following statement:

“This week, Republicans have shown us once again that judicial nominations are their top priority. Just minutes after shamelessly concluding Donald Trump’s impeachment trial without a conviction, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s first item of business was to immediately advance more troubling nominees for the federal bench. It’s high time that Democratic debates assigned the same urgency to the issue of courts as the other side always has. People For the American Way co-hosted a presidential forum in Iowa in January where courts were a main topic, so we know candidates have a lot to say about how they would prioritize the courts. Debate audiences deserve to hear these ideas.”
