“We have a president in office today who made flashy promises about taking back the government for working class Americans. Now he’s on the verge of perpetrating a massive heist to benefit the wealthy. This bill is a scam, plain and simple. It will damage our healthcare system, endanger our social safety net, and threaten the economic wellbeing of millions of people all to line the pockets of Trump’s billionaire friends.

“For Black Americans still recovering from the Great Recession, the GOP tax bill will be devastating. There is no way to sugarcoat the largest wealth redistribution to the ultra-rich our nation has ever seen – this is going to be horrible.

“The GOP tax bill is an attack on African American communities across this country. It threatens the healthcare and essential social programs that most benefit our communities all to finance tax breaks for the rich. Just a decade after the Great Recession wiped out half of Black wealth, this bill is another huge blow to Black working families.”
