WASHINGTON, D.C.— Following today’s Senate vote to confirm Steven Menashi to a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, PFAW Executive Vice President for Policy and Program Marge Baker released the following statement:

“There is no way to justify Republicans’ decision to confirm Steven Menashi, a person with a record of racist and bigoted statements as well as  highly questionable and unethical activities as part of the Trump administration, to a lifetime seat on the federal bench. But we must not become numb to the relentless parade of such unjustifiable confirmations; instead, we must remember  who was responsible for them when we enter the voting booth next November. The way to put a stop to the confirmation of more judges like Menashi is to put a stop to the political careers of those people who are putting them on the bench.”
