In response to the testimony of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, People For the American Way Executive Vice President Marge Baker issued the following statement:

“Dr. Blasey Ford’s testimony was deeply courageous and entirely credible. Her request for an FBI investigation should have been honored. Her request that other witnesses be called should have been honored. Her request that she be questioned by senators should have been honored. But despite every effort by Republicans to minimize and dismiss her, the power of Dr. Blasey Ford’s willingness to tell her own story came through. America should be grateful for her bravery and her patriotism.

“It’s important to remember that there are other survivors who have asked for the opportunity to tell their stories and so far have been refused. This nomination must be withdrawn. If not, any full investigation into Brett Kavanaugh’s behavior should include their voices as well.”
