“Speaker Pelosi rightly recognizes that zero hour has arrived with regard to the threat to our democracy posed by Donald Trump. Her call for articles of impeachment to be drafted is essential to protect the next election, which is imminent, against the foreign intervention that this president so clearly invited — and continues to invite. Trump’s actions force us to face the sobering and unavoidable truth that at this moment the enemy is indeed within the gates. Impeachment is the only responsible, constitutional and moral solution to the gravely corrupt and antidemocratic actions of this president, and we wholeheartedly support the Speaker’s decision. ”
