Washington, DC— Following this week’s impressive progress on the Senate floor advancing the confirmation process for Biden-Harris federal judicial nominees, including the confirmation of Myrna Pérez to the Second Circuit, the confirmations of six district court judges, and cloture votes on two more circuit court nominees, People For President Ben Jealous released the following statement:

“With seven more federal judges confirmed this week, the Biden-Harris administration is setting a blistering pace for judicial confirmations. So far the Senate has confirmed 26 judges to lifetime terms, a faster pace than we have seen in decades. This is especially gratifying because of the extremely high caliber of the nominees. This administration is placing people on the federal bench who have a tremendous diversity of lived and professional experience, sterling legal credentials, and a rock-solid commitment to civil rights. And the beneficiaries are the American people, who are getting courts and judges who will uphold all our rights, not just those of the rich and powerful.”
