Washington, D.C.– Following reports that Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) tweeted a violent animated video, depicting himself killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and threatening President Biden with weapons, People For the American Way President Ben Jealous released the following statement:

“The House should immediately move to expel Paul Gosar for this sickening conduct. Anything less makes a mockery of Congress as an institution and severely compromises the safety and security of other lawmakers. Let’s not forget that Gosar was one of the main organizers of the deadly January 6 riot. His latest video is no joke, and it would be a potentially catastrophic mistake to treat it as one.”
