Black Women Will Save the World: An Anthem

About the Book

Weaving in anecdotes from her own career as a White House reporter and from the lives of other notable Black women, April Ryan paints a picture of Black women today as once and future saviors of society — profoundly disadvantaged by structural racism and sexism, but with the ability to overcome due to a unique collective spirit. Ryan makes a case for Black women as unsung “sheroes” of American history, who have “transformed their pain into power” to achieve political, social and economic progress not for themselves alone, but for the greater good.
