Washington, DC— A call-in campaign led by People For the American Way to drive calls to the White House switchboard, calling on President Biden to act on behalf of voting rights legislation, overwhelmed White House lines in its first days during the week of December 13. People For the American Way President Ben Jealous released the following statement:

“We’re excited to announce that our voting rights call-in campaign maxxed out White House phone lines. And we’re not stopping now. We will continue to drive thousands of calls a day into the White House switchboard because this is the most urgent civil rights issue of our time, and President Biden holds the key to its advancement. The message is clear: Mr. President, Americans expect you to protect their voting rights and they’re willing to take the time to call you to demand it. This is the time to act.”
