Washington, DC — Following last night’s vote to confirm Eunice Lee to the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals, People For the American Way President Ben Jealous released the following statement:

“We are excited about the confirmation of Eunice Lee to the Second Circuit. Lee is well qualified for this position as an experienced federal public defender and law professor with a wealth of experience in public service. She is an excellent choice who will help accelerate justice and inspire confidence in the courts. Lee will be the fourth Black woman nominated by President Biden and confirmed to the Court of Appeals so we commend this administration for upholding its commitment to creating a more diverse, inclusive judicial system. We congratulate Lee and look forward to seeing her take her seat on the Second Circuit.”
