WASHINGTON, DC— In response to President Joe Biden’s executive orders to advance sexual and reproductive rights and justice, People For the American Way President Ben Jealous released the following statement:

“Today, we commend President Biden for reaffirming abortion and sexual and reproductive health care as a human right. Millions of women, Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color, LGBTQ+ people, undocumented immigrants, young people, and people with low incomes have experienced traumatizing and life-threatening barriers to care because previous administrations played politics with our lives. Congress and the Biden-Harris administration must protect and expand sexual and reproductive health care and rights for all people in the U.S. and across the globe by implementing the Blueprint for Reproductive Health, Rights and Justice.”
