PreAtlanta— With less than 10 days until the Georgia runoff elections that conclude on January 5, and more than 1.6 million ballots already cast, People For the American Way’s Latinos Vote! program announced a new Spanish-language TV ad today, in support of U.S. Senate candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock.
The ad, titled “Juntos,” meaning “together,” is a 30-second Spanish-language spot that follows a digital ad released last week and continues stressing the importance of the Georgia races in determining control of the U.S. Senate. The encourages viewers to vote for the issues that matter to them, including adequate COVID-19 relief and health care.

People For the American Way’s Latinos Vote! program was the first to invest in reaching out to Latino voters through Spanish language political ads in Georgia, in 2014. It was the only program invested in Spanish-language paid media across the state for the 2020 presidential election.
“This is the most important U.S. Senate race many of us have seen in our lifetimes and Latino voters in Georgia have the opportunity to get rid of corrupt Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue and elect people who can give them the representation they need and deserve,” said People For the American Way President Ben Jealous. “Latino voters are key to flipping the control of the senate and electing Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock who will make it easier to expand healthcare coverage, take action against climate change, and help our families thrive.”
“The Latino community has been locked out of the voting process for so long, but we need to make sure that every single Latino voter in Georgia turns out for the runoff elections,” said People For the American Way board member and civil rights leader Dolores Huerta. “There is so much power in our voices and together, all Georgians can defeat Loeffler and Perdue.”
“If every eligible Latino voter in Georgia casts a ballot for Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, between now and January 5, we can repair some of the damage caused by Donald Trump and can change this country for the good,” said People For the American Way Political Director Lizet Ocampo. “Latinos Vote! and People For the American Way have been in Georgia since 2014 and will continue to engage Latino voters because these are must-win races in Georgia.”
Exit polls had the Latino vote at seven percent–an estimated 345,000 voters–of the electorate for the November general election. The margin of victory in Georgia was about 12,000 votes. Excitement about the runoff is driving more Georgians overall to register to vote: 76,000 more Georgians registered between November’s presidential election and the December 7 voter registration deadline for the current Senate runoff.
