Faith In Jackson: Faith Leaders Rally on the Steps of the Supreme Court

On March 30, People for staff, board and leadership network members, and activists joined coalition partners for an Interfaith Speak Out in support of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Reverend Leslie Watson Wilson, National Director for our African American Ministers In Action leadership program, helped to spearhead the event, emceeing for the group of faith community leaders from across the country. Watch her inspiring closing remarks here:

People For Board Member Rabbi David Saperstein spoke about the dangers our American democracy currently faces, and argues that Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is exactly the kind of brilliant, conscientious judge that our highest court needs right now.

Rev. Wanda Outlaw, one of our African American Ministers in Action members from DC, said a prayer for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson at Wednesday’s interfaith speak out. Join her in praying that Judge Jackson soon becomes Justice Jackson!

Dr. Doris Hicks, a member of our African American Ministers in Action network from South Carolina, talks about what it was like to see Senator Lindsey Graham, her senator, badger Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson at her hearing. In the end, Judge Jackson shone all the brighter.
